Kayak Rentals on Elkhorn Slough
You can launch from our store in Moss Landing's North Harbor and paddle into the Elkhorn Slough. Our flat rate allows you to come in anytime and paddle as long as you want, at your own pace.
Renters must be good swimmers. Children should be at least 5 yrs, and be in a double with an adult unless over 13 yrs, and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
All rentals include life vests, and optional wetsuits, paddling jackets, paddling pants, as well as an orientation about paddling the Elkhorn Slough Reserve with updated weather and tide information.
Types of kayaks available are:
Open deck kayaks (sit-on-top) are very stable singles and doubles: No previous experience needed, these kayaks are stable, easy to get in and out of, and are self bailing (can't fill with water). Includes backrest, paddle, leash, basic kayaking instruction.
Touring kayaks are longer, narrower closed deck (sit-inside) kayaks that can be tippier than Open deck or Recreational Kayaks. Previous paddling experience required. You should know how to paddle, do a "wet exit", adjust skirts, footpedals, rudders. Re-entry techniques not required if you can swim the boat to shore. Includes paddle, paddlefloat, water pump and sprayskirt.
