Renting kayaks from Monterey Bay Kayaks makes it easy to explore the different paddling areas of Monterey Bay and Elkhorn Slough on your own. Choose your location and a kayak appropriate to your skill level and get ready to have fun!

— Rental Rates —

• $30.00 per person for all-day use of single, double or triple kayaks
• Add $5.00 per person for closed deck fiberglass boats
• Group Rates: 10% discount for 12 or more people. Reservations must be made under 1 credit card with 14-day refund policy.

Rental rates include the following:

• Gear Provided: wetsuit, life jacket, paddling jacket, paddle and of course the kayak.
• On-Land Orientation: basic info, local weather forecasts, wildlife viewing guidelines and an overview of the paddling area map.

All renters must be good swimmers.

— Open Deck Kayaks — sit-on-tops

No previous experience needed - These kayaks are great for beginners and first time paddlers due to their stability and self bailing features. Backrest, paddle leash and basic paddling instruction is also included with your rental. Single, double and triple seated models are available. Renters need to be good swimmers.

— Recreational Kayaks — sit-inside recreation kayaks

Available exclusively at our Elkhorn Slough location. Previous paddling experience is required. These kayaks are designed with a larger deck opening than traditional, closed-deck touring kayaks and offer more stability on the water. Re-entering this kayak can be more difficult than an open deck (sit-on-top) kayak. Pump and floatation included. Single & double seated models are available. Renters need to be good swimmers.

— Closed Deck Kayaks — sit-inside touring

Closed deck kayaks are "traditional sit-inside" kayaks that are fairly easy to paddle with the proper instruction. $5.00 extra for fiberglass kayaks at both locations. Additional safety gear is provided including a paddlefloat, water pump and sprayskirt. Prerequisite: a sea kayak class that has covered assisted and solo rescues. Renters need to be good swimmers.

— Frequent Paddler Packages —

All rates are per person:

• $100.00 per month = unlimited rentals at both locations
• $250.00 per month = unlimited rentals, tours, most classes at both locations
• 6-month member passes available at discounts
